Well That’s All Folks for 2025 in what was a thrilling year in the League 

Congratulations to Shaw Hill on winning the Final Event of the Year The Charity Cup with 362 points

Longridge a close second with 357 points

 Preston 3rd on 351 points in difficult conditions well done all who took part .

Stephen Helm winning on the day with 40 points Best score followed by Neil Archibald  39 points and Stephen Nixon with 36 points 3rd.

Last Sunday  31st August  we had the Finals Day Competition 2025 held this year  at Longridge who duly won on the day  well done to them with a score of 533 pts

Best Pair on the day with  in very testing conditions Warren Dever  and Stephen Lewthwaite  from Longridge 62

Congratulations once again to Longridge on winning the 2025  Guild Cup with 329 points by C.P.O. with Leyland on same score by virtue of 9th score to count . Josh Ellisson and Tony Wright from Leyland Golf Club with 49points best Pair on the day,  2nd best pair being Kieron Owens & Mark Saunders from Penwortham  with 47 points

Congratulations to Longridge Golf Club being this years Winners of the Preston and District  Golf Association  League 2025 with a score of 88 points

Runners up Leyland with 78 points

P&D Knockout Competitions Final results

Gary Spiers (Longridge GC) winner of the 2025 Singles Knockout final. Josh Roscoe (Leyland GC) was the runner up.

Harry Cowland & Patrick Bibby (Chorley GC) won the Foursomes Knockout (President’s Cup).  Runners up were Marc Nelson & Mark Dickinson (Leyland GC).

Singles match play

Each player’s Playing Handicap is 100% of their Course Handicap taken from the table displayed at each club – maximum 15.  The lowest Playing handicap player receives zero shots – the higher handicap player receives shots equal to the full difference taken from the lower player

Foursomes match play

Each team of 2 players calculates a team Playing Handicap which is 50% of their combined Course Handicaps taken from the 100% Course  Handicap table displayed at the course being played. Each player’s Course Handicap Maximum 15.  The stroke allowance will be the full difference between the lowest Playing Handicap pair and the higher pair.

To simplify the League Match shots calculation please use the following guide:

Handicap Limit –Maximum Playing Handicap 15.

Each player in a 4Ball take his Handicap Index and looks up his Course Handicap (100%).
The lowest CH player in the 4Ball receives Zero shots.  All other players in the 4Ball receives shots equal to 90% of the difference between his Course Handicap and the lowest player in the 4Ball

Example (using Longridge Course Handicap table for illustration purposes only)

Player A    HI  2.4    100% CH  2   Shots received Zero

Player B   HI  5.6     100% CH  5   Shots received (5-2) x 90% = 3

Player C   HI  8.9    100% CH  9   Shots received (9-2) x 90% = 6

Player D  HI  17.3   100% CH 15 (max) Shots received (15-2) x 90% = 12
