P&D Knockout Competitions – Stroke Allowances

Singles match play

Each player’s Playing Handicap is 100% of their Course Handicap taken from the table displayed at each club – maximum 15.  The lowest Playing handicap player receives zero shots – the higher handicap player receives shots equal to the full difference taken from the lower player

Foursomes match play

Each team of 2 players calculates a team Playing Handicap which is 50% of their combined Course Handicaps taken from the 100% Course  Handicap table displayed at the course being played. Each player’s Course Handicap Maximum 15.  The stroke allowance will be the full difference between the lowest Playing Handicap pair and the higher pair.

To simplify the League Match shots calculation please use the following guide:

Handicap Limit –Maximum Playing Handicap 15.

Each player in a 4Ball take his Handicap Index and looks up his Course Handicap (100%).
The lowest CH player in the 4Ball receives Zero shots.  All other players in the 4Ball receives shots equal to 90% of the difference between his Course Handicap and the lowest player in the 4Ball

Example (using Longridge Course Handicap table for illustration purposes only)

Player A    HI  2.4    100% CH  2   Shots received Zero

Player B   HI  5.6     100% CH  5   Shots received (5-2) x 90% = 3

Player C   HI  8.9    100% CH  9   Shots received (9-2) x 90% = 6

Player D  HI  17.3   100% CH 15 (max) Shots received (15-2) x 90% = 12
